Savannah Place Model Home

Before you know it, you’ll be settled into your beautiful, brand new Simms Development home — can you taste the celebratory champagne in your gorgeous kitchen yet? You’re probably on top of all of the big tasks, but don’t let the little things get away… From disconnecting your services to securing transportation for your pet, there are a few tasks that you can get done now to ensure the easiest process possible! Take a look at our list:

[  ] Pet Transportation: You know your furry pals better than anyone, so make sure to secure their ride in advance to avoid any ruff situations. Of course, packing toys and treats for them wins you pet-parent points.

Parkside Row Bathroom

[  ] Overnight Bag: Pack a separate overnight bag with a change of clothes and toiletries (you know: shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste, deodorant, hairbrush etc.), plus medications, towels, and washcloths. These may not be the first things you’re dying to pack… but you’ll thank yourself later!

[  ] Make Calls: A few simple calls will go a long way in the first few weeks and months after you move in. Notify your medical practices that you’re moving, cancel your subscriptions, alert utility companies to disconnect your services, and notify employers and insurance providers of your (shiny and) new address.

[  ] Furniture/Trash Pick Up: If you’re getting rid of furniture or old TVs in your current house, contact your town’s trash department and/or large item removal companies first. (Most trash companies cannot handle the large capacity of the trash that might come from moving out of a home and require separate pick-ups.)

Parkside Row Kitchen

[  ] Stock Up: Stock up on easy eats like fruit, nuts, crackers, and granola bars, since they require no refrigeration and preparation. Stay energized and full while you beautify your brand new home!

As you gear up to move into your Simms Development home, make sure to keep this checklist handy so that you’re all squared away on the big day. For more information on our homes and communities throughout Dayton, please give us a call at 937-434-9009.
