The Home Builders Association of Dayton is the voice of the residential building industry in the Dayton region. Comprised of nearly 400 residential home builders and associated professionals and friends of the industry in six counties, the HBA is dedicated to the proposition that home ownership should be within the reach of every American family.

The Simms family has enjoyed a long tradition of leadership within the HBA, boasting three Past Presidents: William A. Simms in 1952; Charles V. Simms in 1969; and Charles H. Simms in 1999. In 2004 the HBA President was Charlie’s cousin Mike Simms, son of Charles’ brother Bill and President of Homes by Simms, HBS Development.

The Dayton HBA builds connections that strengthen our industry through a number of special events and activities for members, including two that invite the public to see the best our industry has to offer. The Fall Parade of Homes just wrapped up two weekends of showcasing twenty outstanding communities in a self-tour format, including the Cottages at Yankee Trace. But perhaps one of the most well known and highly anticipated events of the year is Homearama.

Dating back to 1977, Homearama has built a reputation as the ultimate new home showcase, featuring the region’s finest builders. The 2014 Homearama Luxury Edition will be held from Friday, October 17 through Sunday, November 2nd at the beautiful Auteur Estates in Clearcreek Township, Warren County.  This impressive Homearama will showcase magnificent estate homes nestled in a quiet, secluded and heavily wooded setting.

Walt Hibner, Executive Director of HBA Dayton, keeps his eyes on the horizon, and planning for a number of special events for 2015 are already well underway. Annual events like Tabletop Night, the Golf Outing, and the Strike-A-Thon bowling event provide opportunities for members to network and socialize.

Each June the HBA stages the annual Denver Smith Memorial Golf Outing. Simms Development always sponsors a hole. Charlie and Charles never miss a chance to hit the links and connect with industry peers. All proceeds from the event go to charity.

Next fall, the 2015 Homearama Touring Edition will feature twenty beautiful new homes and communities throughout the Miami Valley, including one by HBS Construction, as well as a Charles Simms home at our newest community, Parkside Row in Springboro.  The newly constructed homes in the Touring Edition have been chosen to represent a variety of price ranges to fit any budget. Parkside Row Sign Goes Up

The home building industry drives our economy, builds our neighborhoods, and touches the lives of everyone in our region. By supporting the HBA through leadership and building quality new homes, we help contribute to Dayton’s success now and in the future.
